Shortage of coins: Belgaum Chamber meets RBI official

The Belgaum Chamber of Commerce and Industries (BCCI) recently met Mr Behara, Deputy Governor, RBI, and apprised him of the shortage of coins in the Belgaum region in North Karnataka. According to Mr Jaideep Siddannavar, President, BCCI, “Mr Behara has promised that the coins coming to RBI in few days, would be dispatched to Belgaum on priority.” The office-bearers of BCCI had an interactive meet on with Mr S. Suresh Kumar, Karnataka Urban Development Minister, on issues pertaining to property tax for industrial areas.


Property tax
The BCCI delegation discussed property tax (CVS) which now is very complicated and requested the Minister to help simplify the same in rest of the State on the lines of Bangalore Mahanagar Palike. “The Minister has promised to look into the matter and solve problem within two months,” said Mr Siddannavar. The BCCI delegation also met Ms Shobha Karnadalaje, the Karnataka Minister for Power, regarding problems faced by industries in Belgaum. The delegation requested her to give sufficient power supply to industrial areas . Mr Siddannavar said, “She has promised to visit Belgaum in next month and call an interactive meeting with industrialists and citizens of Belgaum.”
