TDS CPC issue Short Deduction Notice on the basis of (Sum of Annexure I of Amount Paid/Credited of all quarters) -investment of U/s 80-C on applicable tds rate of the relevant employees for the financial year 2012-13. As the Total Amount of Salary paid of Annexure II is less than the sum of Annexure I of amount paid/credit. please advise what should we do.

Dear Pramod,
Check whether employees had paid there tax due(if any) to the government. Then if paid by employee, you can request the department to waive the interest and penalty as tax is already paid by the employee.
