That is a great news to hear.
But we are still seeing the default summary in traces website. Should we intimate any one to remove that or should we do any action from our side

If you check the circular, this waiver is conditional. Condition is that the buyer should link to Aadhar by May 31. So, we have to send a representation with the proof that buyer has linked the PAN and request for cancelling the demand. It will NOT cancel automatically.

Till Now, government has not issued any SOP regarding how to cancel demand, or how to apply for drop of demand. So, as of now the demand is continue to show in default summary section in Traces Website. Any one having latest update on this kindly share.

Today, I received a mail from IT Department. Mail is as follows:
"Regular Statement for Acknowledgement Number AK0xxxxx filed by you through E-filing has been reprocessed by Income Tax Department (ITD) u/s 154 r.w.s 200A and no defaults have been identified for this statement. The statement has been reprocessed as a new payment via subsequent payment challan or demand payment challan as received after previous processing."
I believe this means that the demand is cancelled. Can someone confirm?

Hi Anil,
I didn’t receive any email but the demands have disappeared from mine and my wife’s traces. Not sure why they didn’t send an email.
