Hi T.S.Mohana Harish / : Vipul Kayasth

I can see that your queries were not answered.

Actually you have asked a question which is too general.

Can you tell me what is the application. If you can narrow it down, maybe i can help you.

Are you accounting for your own portfolio, or are you a sub-broker accounting for your clients trades or are you a exchange member accounting for you clients trades.

In all 3 cases the accounting is different.

narrow it down and i will help you.

Hi

Let me tell you what is common in all these cases :

A security (shares / bonds) is an asset and should show up in your balance sheet. You may call it Share Account with a sub ledger consisting of all shares you have (as per your stocks and new ones created whenever you make a purchase in a new share).

the margin deposit with your broker is also an asset.

Brokerage, STT, CTT, Service Tax, Broker Note, Transaction Charges, SEBI Charges, etc. are expenses.

For every broker you have an account wit you must open an account.

When you receive your contract note on the trade date make the respective entries but with voucher date taking the payout date as shown in the contract note.

Regards

Dominic

One of the Best is Invest Plus ,

excelent software that i am using the best thing is more the 50 broker house brokerbill ( contract note) import facility, that mean no need to manual entry and automatic online portfolio update

https://www.investplus.in see the features and Presentation or download and use it your self,

the best part is Userinterface and continous broker bill formate updating for new broker houses

Has anyone used MoneywarePro 2000 software. I have seen on their website, it can import contract notes of brokers, hence no need to physically enter bills for share trading. Anyone using this please comment on this accounting software.

thanks
