share holding means a person who holds the share of a compay .....but all share holder doesnt get voting rights.......
for e.g ....preferance share holder generally not get voting right....
and equity share warrant holder are also share holder but they also dont have voting right............
so both the terms are different it is not necessary that share holder must have voting right ...aboveexamples shows u the share holder who doesnt have voting right.........

As per my knowledge equity shares normally contains voting rights and Preferece shares does not. Further, issue of shares with differential voting rights has been banned by the companies act.
