Share experience on rectification u/s154

Since the above email and its attachment do not give any date deadline, I guess this notice may be errorenously sent assuming that I have filed a rectification for the said return. Is this possible?

Can such above notice be sent by IT even if no rectification has been made? Or is there more to it, like reassessing the returns by AO for scrutiny. Experts, please give your views.

Go to grievance and complain that you have received such a communication.

You can tell that you have not filed for rectification.

Login into ur account and efiled returns click on to ref no.

See the status of assesment. It could be my mistake.

The online status shows "ITR Processed Successfully" and I had received intimation u/s 143(1) stating no refund and no due in Sep 2015. Hence I assumed that my returns have been processed. Can the ITD reopen assessment once it is processed?

So if u have not filled yhen ignore it .

I have seen google responses to similar question but what I couldn't find is that how the assesses managed to handle this later. If someone who has gone through similar notice can share his experience till the closing of such matter, I shall be highly grateful.

Was any tds credit claimed in the return?

No TDS was claimed.

I too Got the notice u/s154 for rectification and advisising to contact the Concerned Ao for the Asst Year 2015-16. I got the refund also for the AY and I have not asked for any rectification. I have filed ITR-4 for my Professional Income of Rs.4.20 Lakhs. No Clue why I got the Notice. Can some one tell us the reasons for this.

Rectifiation u/s 154 is passed in case there is any mistake apparent on record... i.e; in your cases, there is some mistake from department's side w.r.t intimations issued u/s 143(1)... So the department has complete power to rectify errors made from their end within 4 yeras from the end of relevant F.Y. in which the original order/ intimation was passed....!!
