Is derivatives mark weightage high in SFM paper? I’m actually doing self study and finding that a little difficult. I’m planning to score well on the other chapters and ignore this. Do you think it’s a good idea?

Leaving anything in SFM paper is risky. I did the same mistake in november 2017 and derivatives came for around 24+ marks. Try not to leave but even if you want to leave, then dont leave completely. Do some important portion from it.

Derivative will definitely help you in practical world also , along with exams
Use your network and try to arrange sfm video classes that help you to better understand.
Leaving out entire derivatives is certainly not advisable. What should be done is at least the pm questions from the chapter Indian capital markets should be practised properly.

You can find some videos in youtube for the chapter.

You can try it.

All the best.

Yeah..Its difficult to understand derivatives by self study. I've also experienced the same when i studied it. But you should not ignore this chapter fully. Try and get some simple notes and study.

i have also uploaded various vidoes on youtube for CA Final SFM topics, here is the link

CA Final - Financial Management: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLjemDd6cjImAOcb1tL7SOGrsZfKjdyYMD

I'll be uploading videos on derivatives soon.

All the Best !!
