Sfm help for nov 13

Hi,

I would be appearing for ca final exams Group 1 in nov 13. I am very confused regarding sfm. Although, i have done the syllabus from self study, but while looking at the exam papers i am not able to solve it, as i get confused regarding from which chapter is the question asked and how should i start answering it. Please suggest some ways, n also some few chapters which are very important so that by doing them very well i am atleast able to clear the paper.

N also for Audit which are the important chapters?

In Sfm, do the following topics first

Mutual Fund

Security analysis ie bond and equity valuation

Leasing

Dividend Policy

Portfolio Theory

Mergers & Acquisition

And give some time for theory question too

And In Audit be thorough with following topics

Code of Ethics, SA's & AS, Company Audit( Reports- 3cd clausewise) and CARO

In Audit refer PM...along with Surbhi bansal..its good and will fetch u good marks...important topics for audit are Professional ethics,SA s,Co.Act.,audit report nd bank audit as well as Cis..

Listen dear . go for practice manual for SFM as it will fetch you more than 50.

as far as audit is concerned, Surbhi Bansal book is more than enough.

IMPORTANT CHAPTERS include SAs . Professional Ethics , ERP....

FOR SFM, I WOULD LIKE TO TELL WHAT OTHERS TELL, GO FOR PM. RATHER I WOULD SUGGEST NOT ONLY FOR SFM, BUT FOR ALL SUBJECTS I ADVISED TO GO FOR PM.

SECOND THING FOR AUDIT IMPORTANT CHAPTERS ARE "PROFESSIONAL ETHICS" (INCLUDING PEER REVIEW), STANDARDS ON AUDIT AND ACCOUNTING STANDARD,COMPANY ACCOUNT, TAX AUDIT, BANK AUDIT, INSURANCE AUDIT AND PUBLIC SECTOR.

ONE THING I WOULD LIKE TO SUGGEST FOR SFM IS: START PM FROM THE TOPIC WHICH YOU KNOW BEST AND START TO SOLVE PRACTICAL EXAMPLES OF IT THEN GO FOR ANOTHER CHAPTER. AS SOON AS YOU START TO SOLVE EXAMPLES CORRECTLY, IT WILL BOOST YOUR CONFIDENCE. NEVER START FROM A TOPIC WHICH YOU KNOW LESS OR LITTLE. IT WILL ADVERSELY AFFECT YOUR PREPARATION.

You can refer to SFM book by Rajesh Makkar. In my opinion, tht is the best way to tackle all of your SFM issues. Thebook is very lucid and self-explainatory.
