The answer to your question is why not. Yes, it is possible to clear your SFM paper on self preparation, which may take a lot more time and effort. The benefit of attending coaching classes for practical papers is, the faculty is an expert in the subject and he / she will be able to guage the pitfalls where most students find it difficult in understanding the concepts.
With their expertise and experience they would give you a better platform to know some of the techniques in presenting a paper along with conceptual clarity. Yes, it is possible for you to do it on your own, but that will take lot more efforts and time. The big Question therefore is, whether you have the luxury of time considering you have another 3 more important papers in First group to cover.
So, you take a call as to where you stand and what is best suited for you, considering the time, money, effort etc.
Best of luck.
