Is there any difference between setting aside an Assessment & Cancelling an assessment?????

HI........
In setting aside the original assessment is ingored by the appelate autority and and order is passed by it on his decision but in cancellation original assesment is cancel and order is given to A.O. (who have made original assessment) to make fresh assessment from very biginning.
