Services provided to govt authority

HI,

Services provided to sports authority of India is exempt form Service tax or we have to charge service tax in the invoice??

Please let me know.

In my opinion, no specific exemption is available on services provided to SAI, hence Service Tax should be charges as in case of other service recepients.

Mr Mahavir,

I agree with CA Prabhat Gupta. In case any specific exemption is available, SAI will definitely produce the notification to the suppliers not to charge Service tax for the services rendered.

If no specific exemption is available, service tax will have to be levied even for Government trasactions.
