i have one query regarding Service Tax Return and tax payment. My father have one Proprietorship organisation. for the year 2011-12 he provide only sevice and charged service tax in bill. but did not receive any money against that. Till date he has not filed Service Tax return nor paid. Pls advice me if any penalty for that if we are going to file Return now and how should he treat regarding Tax payment.

Service Tax Return was due on 25th April 2012 for which default is made. File on line return showing billed amount and collection as Nil.
But as per amendement now service Tax is liable to be paid on due basis hence liable to pay on quarterly basis on the next 5th day of the quarter end and tax on previous year pening collection on receipts basis payable.
Please deposit the online service tax return late fee Rs 2000.00 applicable.
