Procedure is common for all Service Tax assessees. Just visit www.aces.gov.in & create a login & password as new assessee under SERVICE TAX. After the user ID has been created login your account > Fill ST - 1 under REG tab. Take a printout of your acknowledgement and submit it with you Jurisdictional Superintendent along with the documents mentioned in the acknowledgement within 15 days of filing online application. ST- 2 certificate evidencing registration will be issued within 7 days in normal circumstances. You will be able to see ST-2 on your Login, take printouts in duplicate of the same and get is signed by the range officer.

Do we need a seperate PAN number in the name of sole proprietorship or the PAN number in the name of propietor will do???

In case of Sole proprietor no separate PAN is required.
