05 January 2016Our service tax return has to be filed six-monthly. We collect service tax on say 10 to 15 invoices every month. The total collection of service tax may be in the range of say Rs.40,000 per month.
Question 1
When are we required to pay the collected tax to the department? Is it every month or every six months, before we file the return?

1. Service tax we will pay 5th of every month

Sir,Since you are proprietor you can opt for payment of service tax on Quarterly basis + on receipt basis + intimate the department by RPAD.
