Service tax payment and retruns

Hi,

I am individual who is recieving the rent in excess of 10L hence need to pay service tax. I need help in validating some assumptions below.

1. I need to pay service tax for each quarter, by 5th of the following month (For example for April to Jun 2014, I need to pay service tax by 5th July 2014). Is this correct?

2. Service returns i need to file once in 6 months (for example for a period from April to September 2014, I need to file returns sometime in October 2014) Is this correct? Any cut off date for filing service tax returns?

New to this field and trying to self-manage. Great help so far in this forum.

Sir,

It is good to self management in this regard but a little bit mistakes to be generate higher value i.e. dues, interest penalty and other unnecessary. So that keep in touch always in CA club or CBEC.gov.in or raised the more question in this regard. Having other queries in this regard plz forward the same.
