Service tax payment through online did not workout as the HDFC bank is not authorised for chennai commissionarate.

Dear John,
Online payment of Service tax is mandatory only in case of Service tax providers who has paid Tax (¬ gross collections) exceeding 50 Lacs during the previous FY..
Since u have recently got the registration, so u can pay by way of check in any designated Bank close to u..
Check will be in favour of "XYZ Bank A/c<Name of the Bank>- Govt Dues A/c"
