I am doing tax consultancy for both direct and indirect taxes at chennai i am doing a minimum turnover of Rs. 20,000 P.M please confirm me whether service tax is applicable for this service and whether i has to remit the service tax once i crossed Rs. 10 Lakhs in a year.

In your case, service tax is not applicable as your Turnover is not exceeding the threshold limit of Rs. 10 Lakhs.

Service tax is definitely applicable for you. You will need to be registered under Management Consultancy category of taxable service or Chartered Accountancy services if you are a CA. But registration is needed only when your turnover crosses 9L.
