04 November 2011Please tell me whether the tenant is required to pay service tax on behalf of the landlord? If yes what would be the proper procedure for the same.
Here is an attached page which I found from the service tax authorities official website. Kindly, throw some light on the conclusion given by them.

We are a private limited company and we have taken a office for which according to the builder we are supposed to pay the service tax....can u please elaborate further on this?

YES, BUILDERS REQUIRED TO PAY SERVICE TAX BECAUSE RENT PAID TO BUILDER SO SERVICE TAX COLLECTED BY BUILDERS AND MAKE PAYMENTS BY BUILDERS
