Service tax input on telephone bills

We will pay service tax on the telephone expenses incurred .Can we take input on the service tax paid on the telephone bills paid which is used for offical purposes?

Yes, you can claim CENVAT credit on input services like telephone. . . . .subject to, u r providing taxable output service/s

Yes, u can take CENVAT credit on Telephone Bills if u are using it for providing taxable service

Rule 4 of Cenvat Credit Rules 2004 clearly states that Manufacturer/Service provider is entitled to avail cenvat credit on service tax on input services used in manufacture/ rendering output service.

No. You can not avail Cenvat Credit if, the mobile is not in the name of the Company.

Regarding for availment input credit of mobile in the name of individual in excise, i would like to require any notification or circular issued by Govt.

Credit is available if the provider of taxable outpur service is an individual.

Proprietor of the Company has phone in the house which is provided by the company and paid by the company. Can the company avail credit of the service tax paid by the company on the bills towards this phone.

Please clarify.

A proprietor can only have a concern. Not a company.
