one of my client is importer and he has paid service tax on warehousing charges to party. He is also liable to pay servie tax on transport services to govt. i would like to know can he set off the service tax paid on warehousing charges earlier to party with his liability on service tax on transporter. cen he also take rebate of service tax paid on utility bills. please reply as soon as possible.

Dear Sharad,
Ware house is used for store of Material and not used for providing Output services, In my view he is no eligible to take CENVAT Credit.

Dear Sharad Ji,
In my opinion the person should get the input service tax credit. However, it will be interesting to know the details about what the importer does the business of those goods.
