Is service tax is applicable on the services rendered by foreign company , in its own country .
who is liable to pay service tax ?
If the receiver of the services is liable to pay service tax under reverse charge mechanism ,can CREDIT be taken for the service tax paid .

For the first query NO. For the second query also normally NO. But if it is factory then credit can be availed and utilised for discharing their liability.

Kindly let me know whether service tax is payable on Oil field equipment hiring charges to a foreign company having no office in India, if so who is liable to pay. If is is required to pay by domestic company whether input credit can be availed against service tax paid on behalf of the foreign company.
Please help me.
