I HAVE SOME QUARIES REGARDING SERVICE TAX

We are in the field of digital printing. At present, whereever we have installed machines on rental is being charged by us for service tax. I would like to know, if I have to charge service tax for jobs done in my factory. Enquires done with service tax authorities earlier have no results.
During the visit of sales tax authorities, we were told to collect 4% for jobs done inhouse, and when I enquired about the labour portion involved, they said, you can charge us 3% and the remaining 1% of the total taxable value can be shown as labour charges.
Once I mention, as labour charges in my invoice, will I come under service tax or not?
Please help.

Pringinting does not come under the purview of Service tax. Similarly it will not come under Business auxiliary services (printing related services are excluded).
