26 November 2008A company providing after sales service of Water treatment, purchases software worth 60 lakhs plus, and pays service tax of Rs 6 lakhs plus could this service tax paid be used as a tax credit while paying up its service tax liability.

Mr. B. Vijaya,
You can avail credit provided such input service has been used in providing Taxable Output Service & Service provider shouldn't be availing any amendment.
