Is there any time limit defined for utilisation of Service Tax cenvat credit.

There is no time limit defined under Cenvat Credit Rules, 2004 for utilisation of Service Tax cenvat credit. There is time limit for availment of Cenvat Credit either on inputs, Capital Goods or Input services - Credit is to be availed within one year from the date of Invoice/Bill/Challan etc.

There is no time limit for utilization. you can carry forward cenvat credit for future years.

from 1st March 2016 the CENVAT credit can be availed with in a year from the date of invoice/bill/challan... earlier wef 1st sept 2015 it was 6 months...before 1st sep 2015 there were no time limit specified to avail the CENVAT...
