01 November 2010Can an part time accountant reprsent his employer in case of service tax assessments in fornt of the central excise department. In case of income tax case representation even a accountant can represent the case, is it correct

There is a self assessment benefit is available in Service Tax. However in case if a company in LTU (Large Tax payer Unit) then depending upon the criteria department may select for Excise Audit (EA-2000). In such case even Accountant can represent the case.
