Service tax is cash basis concept. If you receive advance , part or full payment, you are liable to deposit service tax to the CG on respective due dates.

Dear Pratim...
Service tax is payable only on actual receipt of consideration. Wehre the service provider receives only a part of the total service charges. Service tax shall be paid only on such part and not on the entire consideration...ST is payable on advances received also....
