29 March 2011One of our Company has taken Service Tax No. but, since the Service tax is not applicable ,we have not filed returns for last 5 years.now, we want to file return for current years,even thou we are not required to file as Service Tax is Nil.Whether i am required to file previous year return or i will have pay penalty.

After obtaining service tax no. you should file Nil return but if you did not file return service tax department have power to charge penalty on nil return…

You can file your previous return by making the payment of maximum late fee..
GSTR 9 and 9C for FY 23-24 as amended by Notification 12/2024 dated 10th July 2024(with recording)
