A person born on 06-02-1952 and on 06-02-2012, he will get the age of 60 years. Will he be entitled for senior citizenship benefits for the financial year 2011-12, since the age of senior citizens was reduced to 60 in the budget.
Please clarify.

Yes of course he will be entitled for senior citizenship
Under the Income Tax Act, a senior citizen is a person who at any time during the previous year has attained the age of 60 years or more. Therefore in ur case person would be entitled for senior citizenship benefits for the financial year 2011-12.
It is a good move by the Financie Ministry.
