Selfstudy

Hi all,

I find that most coaching centres are just money-making 'systems' for themselves at the cost of the poor student.

The best way to clear CA is through selfstudy.Even those who take tuitions also must at some point of time take recourse to self-study.

Most students waste time in going to these coaching centres, with cramped conditions and lot of students.

Most students also waste time in procuring coaching materials.24 hrs the discussion is about one coaching material or the other.I really wonder if they really study the material or just on a spree of getting the material.

Im following for accounts--MPVijaykumar and it is as good as his classroom coaching. If one puts effort one gets a feel of the classroom even sitting at home and reading one reference book per subject.(Also,ICAI Studymaterial and compiler)

For SFM,Im using SDBala and ANSridhar.(As also compiler)

For Auditing--Padhukas is more than enough for me.

For Law--Munish Bhandari and Bare Act

For Costing--Padhukas and ICAI studymaterial

For ISCA--Manish Valeccha and studymaterial

For Direct Taxes--TN Manoharan

For Indirect Taxes--Bangar

This would do....to clear CA.This is what my brother followed also and he got a rank and cleared.

Dear lavanya,

It depends upon person to person. Ur brother must be having good grasping power. This has helped him to understand things easily, through self-study. But it cannot be sufficient enough for all. Some may need some extra efforts. So, if a person attends classes sincerely with a motive to clear his exams, i think he too can come out with flying colours. Atleast for LAW and IDT, coaching classes are necessary, bcoz, the level of interpretation required is very high. But, again, i would like to say that this is my humble opinion. Some may prefer self-study, rather than coaching classes. Because of their hard work, they clear CA. So the hard work which we put, matters a lot.

Law and IDT are best studied at home leisurely using Munish Bhandari and Bangar. No coaching is required.

Also, one book is enough per subject.Students buy 2 or more books

Which is

1.Waste of time

2. Waste of emotional energies

3.Waste of resources.

It just adds to frustration.Instead of spending Rs.5000 as registration fee and then again Rs.5000 to 6000 per subject and commute up and down, study in cramped situations with other tensed faces around, one can read and study araamse' at home and finish this course.

Everyone has grasping power.Just they need to grasp that grasping power and put it to use.
