Dear Student

As per the provisions of section 165 of the Act all kinds of companies be included in total number of 20 companies . The Act does not grant any exemption of any kinds of comapnies to be included in this total number of companies. Regards

As per Notification by MCA as on June 5,2015 Sec 165(1) shall not apply to Non Profit Companies u/s 8

Dear Julie

The  question is whether the non-profit company under section 8 will be included within the limit of 20 companies . The answer to that question is YES. The noitification does not exempt non profit company to be inlcuded within the limit of 20 companies , but exempts the provisions of "limit of 20 companies" for the directors for  non-profit companies. This meant that the limit of 20 comapnies does not apply to the directors of non-profit companies.Turst this will clarify the matter. Regards Krishan Singla

OK I got this. Thank you Sir.
