in such proviso, clause (i), the auditor shall not be eligible for reappointment in the "same company". Then can the auditor be appointed in its subsidiary or holding or associate company?

yes,from the plain reading of sec 139(2) it implies that he can b appointed as auditor of subsi or asso or holding co
