Sec 80gg and form 10ba

Tax queries 11054 views 3 replies

I live in a Co-operative Housing society, where I own a flat; I pay my monthly rent to the secretary of this society.  I learnt that form 10BA should be filled and file during the time of filing the return by appending this filled form to the return.  But for ITR forms  ITR 1 to ITR 8 no appended documents are allowed!  I file my return on ITR-2.  What should I then do with respect to form 10BA?  How can I file 10BA?  Or will the data mentioned under chapt VI A deductions 80GG in ITR-2 be deemed legally compliant?  Please reply.  -vrshenoy

No need to file form 10BA .

Only U have to claim deduction in ITR form.

If later on, deptt. needs any further info then u have to submit the relevent details.

Vivek: theres an aption in E File section where you can fill the form 10BA online and you will get an acknowledgement and the form itself in dash board Try it !

Is 10BA mandatory Even if we pay rent to our parents ?

Is any other requirement like pay rent through cross cheque or rent agreemnet or Monthly / Yearly Rent Receipt ?
