Sec 54 & sec. 54ec exemption

Can an individual claim benefit of exemption u/s. 54 and 54EC together. In other words if an individual invests part of the capital gains from sale of house property in purchase of another house property and balance portion of the said capital gains are invested in capital gain Bonds. Whether such exemption is permitted??
