Sec.186(1) of companies act,2013
Sec.186(1) restricts a company from makimg investment through not more than 2 layers of investment companies.
What does it mean by 2 layers here ???

If A Ltd invests in B Ltd and B Ltd invests in C Ltd, it means that A Ltd has indirectly invested in C Ltd through layer of investment.
