To obtain exemption in the examination, you need a solid mindframe to think positive and believe you can do it. Get started with the book which you have already purchased, start going through it, as it will provide you impetus as you move on. Understand the concepts given in the book with an open mind and where ever you are not able to understand, devote more time in going for a deep dive, thereby it enhances your thinking capability and apply logical steps in the examination. On the question of whether to practice revisionary problem given in the book, it is always an indicator to find out the level of preparation you have done and the areas where you need to focus even more in order to improve your knowledge. Practice also gives you confidence to face the examination.
On your second query about Calculator, just pick up an ordinary calculator which has basic functions of addition, multiplication, subtraction, division, percentage and square root.
All the best for scoring exemption and performing overall well in the examination.
