Delhi : Actor Amitabh Bachchan has some explaining to do to the Supreme Court on his income and proof of incurring security expenses amounting to 30% of about Rs6.9 crore in 2001-02. A bench, headed by Justice SH Kapadia, on Monday issued notice to Bachchan asking him to provide proof of income and documents relating to his security expenses. Bachchan had anchored a television show, Kaun Banega Crorepati, and earned around Rs6.9 crore in 2001-02. The Income Tax (IT) Department had said that Bachchan` s representative had made a claim of incurred expenses to the tune of 30% of the income, as estimated expenses on security cover provided to the actor who feared extortion threats from gangsters. Bachchan later withdrew this plea.
