Well a good choice but if you are not learning SAP but conducting Audit of Companies working in SAP than it would not be that much helpful.

Better not to go for formal learning of SAP while you are doing your CA. It will be a great advantage if you learn SAP after your CA.

Better learn possible aspects of SAP during your articleship training, on the job. That will be a great help, as it is quite an interesting & complicated system which is much in use.

I comfirm Mr. Sanjeev's View. Put efforts to become CA. After becoming CA, choose which line you would go, TAX, AUDIT, CoLAW, Accounts, Portfolio Management etc. If you are going for Accounts SAP would be useful. It would also be useful if going in for career in Audit.

thank u very much for all for your valuable suggestions. i finished my articleship. after my CA PCC exam i.e., after this may 16th i have 2 to 3 months time till result, so i am planning to learn some thing good and usefull... so, what are other choises to me...? please...

Hi Raghavendra

1.I have completed my training in SAP - FICO module with an institute in T Nagar which gives the basics. Actually this coaching I went is like how CA students go for coaching centers like prime, gurukripa, etc. This provides me only knowledge. For getting certifications and for writting exams, you need to register with siemens. Siemens is the only authorised person in India to conduct SAP exams like CA institute for CA exams.

2. The total cost of the SAP education with certificate in Siemens is around Rs. 2.85 lakhs in the month of December 2010. However, CA institute is giving an opportunity for CA students to take up SAP by offering the same course at Rs. 1.35 lakhs.

3. The course offered by CA institue is an online training programme, where the students are given opportunity for 200 hours training in hydus (SAP education version) and questions can be posted online and clarified. There will be no one to teach. For details check out ICAI.org

4. The main thing is that, why are you taking it up matters? If it is going for like auditing purposes, go for coaching classes immediately. If it is for career, first finish CA and then go for certification. Ofcourse, its only my suggestion

i am an MBA (finance major,hr minor) and a graduate in HR. I am planning to do SAP course. I have conducted internal audit and concurrent audit till date.Have also designed SOP for processes like HR,Fixed asset, Procure to pay, Store etc

I am working for Audit and Advisory company. Would like to know what kind of SAP education I should go for to improve my career in Audit. i.e. Sap certification or sap knowledge

I have time of sat -sun only. Is there any institute which provide education on these days

Which module would be best.

I can do 2-3 modules but would like to know which one is better

Hi thanx for every one for spending their time for discussion on SAP. One of the institute in Gurgaon wh0 are providing SAP FICO Coaching in 20,000/- for two month. they will also provide SAP dumy software for practicing at home on extra charges 5000/-.

yes boss... in bangalore also one of the institute is giving training for SAP in 2 months for Rs.20000 to 25000...

am asking the worth and scope of that class...

Doing SAP certification and SAP training for knowledge has its impact differently. Though on the outlook SAP training may sound to complement SAP certification but on reality it has much wider impact.

I went for training in an institute in Chennai for Rs. 15000. The class duration was for 1.5 months. I went with an objective to learn for certification but others from my office (audit firm) came to learn to SAP to conduct audits in SAP environment.

90% of the class was on how to work in the environment and 10% on report generation, etc. Two things are important in selecting the coaching center - professor and practice. SAP is like excel or tally with a little more confused configurations and unless continuously practiced, the same can be forgotten. There are institutes which provide sat and sun classes but have less time for practice. Just google it for results

FICO moducle is one of the best for the finance and audit related person

Hi Ravi

The SAP dummy software you were talking about is called hydus (SAP educational version) like in tally educational version. If i am right, it requires 300 gb hard disk space, 2 gb ram, intel dual core and will support windows 7 when partitioned with 2000. In chennai the same costs Rs. 1200. I am in the process of getting one. The person told me that it will take more than 20 hours to install.
