Same pan...2 different persons

dear all,

i have to file i.t return of an assessee for the a.y 2012-13...but the problem is that his pan now shows  details of other person....

how is it possible??????? his previous year e-return was filed with same pan and the assessee has shown his original  pan card to me..

pls suggest me.
