Sales tax not filed

Hi All,

I registered my store and got my TIN number three months back. Due to some reasons my dealership got delayed and there were no sales for the past three months.So i didnt file anything for the past 3 months.Now i got my dealership and gonna start my business.So please let me know how to file sales tax from now ? Also let me know if there is some specific procedure to file ,as i didnt do it before.

Dear Fernando,

Kindly confirm under which state VAT you are registered.

Because every state have their own procdeure. Like, under Delhi VAT, filling date of return is near.

UNDER THE ORISSA SALES TAX ACT (OVAT) YOU ARE

BOUND TO FILE YOUR SALES TAX RETURN .......DOES

NOT MATTER WHETHER YOU HAVE MADE ANY BUSINESS

OR NOT.A NIL RETURN IS REQUIRED TO BE FILED IN THIS

Dear Reader,

As shobhit sir said, Every state has its own norms. Once you are registered for TIN & Receive the same, Irrespective of the Business commencement. You have to File a NIL Return on the TIN Obtained. If you are taking Credit for Capital goods , You should urged the seller for the original bill for such goods, for taking INPUT on CAPITAL GOODS( Certain procedure has to be complied) . As per The Tamil Nadu VAT RULES concern, once you have received TIN you have to FILE NIL return .

Hi all

In Karnataka also you need to file NIL returns after obtaining TIN, irrespect of the fact that whether you made sales or not.

Dear all You have obtain TIN No. no have any transaction during the month & qutery then you have do need NIL file return.
