How much is the salary for fresh CAs in the Big Four ? Do they take only CA Rank Holders ?

Big 4 recruits rank holders as well as non rank holders. Fresh CAs in big four are paid between 5 lakh - 8 lakh, depending on rank/non rank, number of attempts, the firm from where the student has completed articleship and off course other factors like soft skills etc.

Exploitation of CAs in Industry by way of excessively long duty hours
Young CAs have been employed in industry in large numbers. They have been offered good packages, too. However, cryptic methods are being used for their exploitation in the industry since long. The employers, especially Big Four and other IT firms, have developed such work culture at their workplace that their employees have to work for excessively long hour, late into the night, without getting any additional monetary benefits.
These firms allot less number of staff for certain assignment and set deadlines for the meager staff to complete it within given time frame. This puts extra pressure on CAs and other staff and makes them work at the office or at client’s place for more than 12 hours a day. This is actually in violation of the declared policy of these firms regarding total duty hours to be put by an employee in a week.
The CAs working beyond normal duty hours and over and above total duty hours prescribed for a week should be paid at double the normal rate for that extra period of time. Or else, these employers should hire adequate and sufficient number of staff/workforce so that it is possible for them to complete the assignment during normal working hours.
The issue needs to be addressed by the ICAI on priority in the interest of CA fraternity.
