1)can salary can be calculated from the detail of salary slip... instead of form 16 ?
2) and some allowances which r exempt upto actaul expenses, then tht amount to be shown in the non taxable allowances.... and remaining part in taxable? ....or it should be according to form 16 by employer
If form 16 is provided by employer.... follow that. (even if that may cost you little more tax payment)
Now-a-days notices from ITD for mismatch of income as per form 16 or form 26AS are inevitable.
For major difference, or any incorrect data, get it rectified through the employer/accountant.
