Get some good GK book (like pearson or manorama+NCERT books)...read magazines/newspaper regularly...
I would like to tell U that general awareness cant be learned, u must not wait for any exam to prepare for it...make it a part of your life to pick up general awareness from any source you get...
Also get the book of Ministry of Information/broadcasting carrying general economic and social information of our country...
