Reverse charge paid in wrong tax head.

Hello,

I filed my gstr 3b for May where I wrongly paid reverse charge in cash as cgst and sgst instead of IGST.

I also didn't fill the space where I need to claim input for same.

Now I'm going to file quarterly gstr1 and want to rectify the above.

As far as wrong payment is concerned, I heard that I need to pay tax in igst first and claim refund for cgst and sgst.

However, how do I claim input afterwards? also how do I need to file gstr 1 to reflect changes.

Thanks in advance.

IGST need to be paid and CGST and SGST paid can be adjusted for the subsequent months liability (in any available) else should go for refund of excess paid CGST+ SGST.
The ITC relating the same can be claimed in upcoming GSTR-3b (IGST credit)
In GSTR-1 RCm related disclosure would not be made as it is relating to inward supplies and the GSTR-1 is for details for outward supplies. Therefore no adjustment required for GSTR-1
1. you do not need to give any effect in GSTR 1for RCM tax paid.
2. pay RCM tax in correct head( igst) in coming tax period return without interest of 18percent p.a.
3. Claim itc of igst paid in same tax period return in which you have paid igst tax.
4. you are eligible to claim refund if tax paid in wrong head.
Thanks for answers.

During refund process there are few options related to type of refund. Below are two of few options. Which one is more appropriate for refund type?

1. Tax paid on intra state supply which is subsequently held to be inter state supply and vice versa

or

2. Excess payment of tax.

Thanks.
The 2nd option excess payment of taxes.
Hello, I'm using Tally.

I re-recorded rcm entry of May in month of June so that it reflects in June's gstr3b. And invoice date is of May's month in the entry. So am I doing it correct coz gstr 3b now has included that invoice for return with right tax head.
