Assuming you are asking for Income tax return:
For returns filed after 31st December penalty would be Rs.10,000.
If total income is not more than Rs 5 lakh, the maximum penalty levied will only be Rs 1,000.

Assuming you are asking for GST:
Late fee is Rs. 100 per day.
You need to pay late fee under both the act i.e CGST and SGST.
It is Rs.100 under CGST & Rs.100 under SGST i.e. Total will be Rs. 200/day.
It is to be noted that maximum late fee can be Rs.5,000.
