In case if a person being individual has income from captial gain or loss, whatever the amount of gain/Loss whether Long term or short term, is mandatory for him to file his ITR?
Even if captial gain is under basic exemption limit ?

Not mandatory, you are not required to file ITR

if GTI is greater than basic exemption before giving effect of sec 10(38) then return filing is compulsory
