HI FRENDS, PLS TELL ME IN THE CASE OF THE RESTAURANTS AND HOTELS ON WHICH ITEMS VAT IS CHARGED AND ON WHICH AMT SERVICE TAX IS CHARGED. I AM TALKING ABOUT PUNJAB VAT ACT.

AS FOR AS MY UNDERSTANDING goes, VAT is Charged on Food Supplies
AND
Service Tax is recovered on Room Rents.
As you know VAT is a state trax and not centralised tax.....so there are items which are taxed in one state and not in another....so its better if u can mention the state
