Requirements to open a shop?

Hey people i know it is quite weird but can anyone suggest that if i wish to open a shop (sole proprietorship) in Delhi (jewellery's shop).What will the formalities to be fulfilled and what registrations will have to be taken.Please suggest.Its quite urgent.
