one of my client is not receiving any HRA but stays in a rented house and paying rent. He is also serviciing housing loan repayment. The self owned property is vacant on account of commutaion to school and office.
Now , can he ripen the tax benefit from housing loan repayments and also if proper rental receipts are provided, can he claim a deduction of rent under sec 80gg too. pls calrify.tnx
