Rent and Service tax
Please let me know whether seraavice tax has to be worked out on Gross rent or on rent after Municipal taxes if any paid by the Land lord

as per notification 24/2007 , rebate on property tax paid ia available it construes that munipal tax does not come under this.
Service tax shall be worked out on Basic rent only.
Property taxes paid which are attributable to the month for which service tax is being collected can be deducted.
