Remedies available for tds deposited under wrong section

This was happened in my case.

You should immediately visit the assessing officer of your TDS circle and upon request they can change the section reference in the VOLTAS database. Its upto the AO to decide.

Thanks Sivakumar... I will do the same.. just one more query... whether TDS AO would himself make the change in the VOLTAS database.. or we would need to approach NSDL for effecting such change once TDS AO acknowledges/agrees the application for such change.

Its not VOLTAS database, its OLTAS database. And TDS return can be even revised later on.

No need to go for NSDL. TDS AO has the power to change.

what if the section is not changed. I do not know the importance of it.  PLease enlighten.
